I was born in
December of 1974 in La Grange Park, IL, but grew up in Rock Island, IL. I attended UW-Stevens Point in August
of 1993 and graduated in May of 1998, with a B.S. in biology and math. I got my first teaching job in June of
1998 at Ashland High School as a math teacher and spent two summers as a kayak
guide in the Apostle Islands. Due
to budget cuts and declining enrollment, I moved to Mt. Horeb, WI in 2000 to
teach biology and math. In 2001 I
got the call to teach math at the alternative school in Sheboygan, WI -
Riverview Alternative Program. In
2003 I started a graduate program at Marian College and met my wife Laurie in a
class in the fall of 2004. In May
of 2005 I graduated and proposed on the same day and we were married in June of
2006.
I decided to call
Fond du Lac my home in 2005 and have enjoyed my time here. I initially was a science teacher at
Fondy Central, but became a self-contained teacher for the 2007/2008 school
year while also becoming the treasurer of the Fond du Lac Education
Association. A desire to offer
something to students who were severely credit deficient led me to teaching the
brand new GEDO program in the fall of 2008.
Tyler was born on
August 1st of 2007 and we are anxiously awaiting the arrival of child #2 in
August of this year. We spend a
lot of time going out to eat, traveling to visit our families, exercising and
watching Tyler grow up.
